- (continued from previous page)Oatmeal bread was made from oatmeal some flour sugar and a cup of hot water. All was kneeded and shaped into a cake this was called oatmeal bread.
Bread was not made each day there was enough made one day that would do for a week or so.
The sign of the cross was made to prevent the cake from cracking. An oat meal cake was backed in from of the fire standing against a support.(continues on next page)- Collector
