  1. The roofs of the houses long ago were tatched with heather, and the majority of those houses had one door and one window, which was only a hole and a bag stuffed in it to keep out the cold.
    The fire was in one corner of the house and a hole in the roof to let out the smoke, and the bed was usually at the other end of the house.
