Among the many subjects discussed at the fireside is the weather and some of the neighbours are said to be great judges of it.
One night lately Jack Holloran who is the best judge we have predicted a very severe Winter .He said the wild geese had come much earlier than usual and that every evening at night-fall they would be heard flying towards Shannon .In Spring and Summer the fog on the mountain(continues on next page)
