  1. Once upon a time not far from the village of Kells, there lived an old man, and it was said that he had a chest of gold in his house.
    One morning he was found murdered in his bed, and the gold was taken. The housekeeper was found guilty of the terrible crime. She refused to tell where she hid the gold. She was sentenced to death, and hanged.
    Everynight after that her ghost was seen
