    The Penal Times
Long ago in the penal days the parish priest of Dalkey was driven out of the town by the English. Every Sunday after, the townspeople went to Dalkey Hill, and the priest said mass. A man living in the town got drunk one night and told the English soldiers about the priest. The soldiers went up on the hill and waited there for the priest. The priest came and when they saw him they rushed out and killed him with their swords.
