    Storms
    In the year 1928 on the 28th February we had a very big storm. Slates were blown off houses and stacks were tossed. Two cows belonging to John Mac Bride of lower Cruit were killed by lightning some years ago.
    The cross on Acres chaple was knocked off by lightning on the 4th July 1928. The chapel in Derrybeg was flooded on the 15th August 1881. It was a cloud burst. This chapel was situated beside a river ( a river) when the people were going out of the chapel two of them were drouned.
