- 4-11-37In the town land of Glenmaquin there is supposed to be a treasure hidden.
A short distance above the school there is a hill call "bris mo croide" and at the top of this hill there is a lane called " griana og line" and on either side of the lane there is a field.
These two fields were all one when this treasure was hidden and there was no lane at that time.
One field belongs to Frank Clarke and the other belongs to John Mayfield.
In John Mayfields field there is a square standing stone near the bottom of it and there is a round standing stone near the top of Frank Clarkes field. There is supposed to be a foal's skin of gold hidden between the stones in each field.
We do not know who put it there or when it was put there. No body ever tried to dig for it. Frank Clarke of Glenmaquin is the author of these facts.
On the opposite page is a small sketch showing the position of the fields lane and stones.May Moorehead
