- Once upon a time I head my grandfather saying that the bread in olden times was made mostly from oatmeal and Indian meal.
I often heard my father saying that there was not much loaf bread or fancy bread in olden times. They just got a lump of Indian bread or oatmeal bread.
The Indian bread and the oatmeal and the wheaten bread are still used to this day.
I often heard my mother saying that the boxty fadge was made from potatoes and flour and a pinch of salt. Some people call Boxty fadge potatoe bread.
Once upon a time I heard an old woman saying "that she liked potatoe bread". Some people make the boxty fadge to this day.- Bailitheoir
