Carndonagh, Co. Donegal - In olden times at weddings the bride wore a white dress with frills around the bottom of it. She also wore a veil over her hat and the latter was decorated with feathers. She wore a pair of strong shoes and home knitted stockings. The groom wore a swallow tailed coat. In olden times the couple never went on a honeymoon but returned to household duties immediately.
