- The care of the feet.
About ninety years ago the people did not wear boots until they were getting married. They bought their first pair of boots on the day before their wedding. About forty years ago they got their first pair of boots when they were leaving off school. Nowadays the children wear boots as soon as they are able to walk.
Some years ago they always wore clogs made locally by the shoemakers. none of the shoemakers in this district make clogs now. There are two shoemakers in this district, they make and repair shoes. Most of the poeple repair their own shoes now.May the children go barefoot and put on thir shoes on Ovtober. During this period they wash their feet overnight or they will hack. Sometimes they get thorns or cuts of glass in their feet. They try to take out the thorn but sometimes they fail. On that account they generally bield and they be very sore.
