- A Hidden Treasure
A treasure was supposed to be hidden in Sheebeg in the parish of Kiltubrid in Co. Leitrim. It is a high hill surrounded by good, rich, green, level land.
A King and Queen and a crock of gold were said to be buried in the mound. A man named O'Hara a national school teacher interested in research work heard of this and came to the hill and dug down very deep in the mound until he came upon a big (?) flag which he could not move. At length he got an opening under the stone and he found to his surprise bones (?) of a King and Queen and traces of gold (?) but in a very small quantity.
