- There are three graveyards in this parish. The chief one is the one in the Village of Ballyheigue, for all the people of the parish. It is a very strange thing that there is a Protestant church in the middle of it. They do not have any service in it at present, but they used to in the time of the Crosbies. This graveyard was very ugly and badly kept, but the priest said that every one who owned a tomb or a grave had to clean it, and they did so. There is a grave-yard in Kerryhead where the Corridon families are buried. It is said when any of the Corridons is going to die a light is seen in the graveyard. There is a stone in the shape of a tomb and a bishop named bishop Erc is buried under it. There is another stone on top of it and it is said that if it is carried away it will come back again before morning. There is another graveyard at the North side, near the holy well, where babies who are not baptised are buried.
