A cure for toothache is to abstain from meat on Wednesdays, or to put ginger into the tooth. Near Gleann there was a man named John Taheny who had the cure of the sprain. He gave a linen tread to the person, that would want it, and he or she would put it to the injured part while he said some certain prayers.
John Ellis who lived in Riverstown had the cure of the foul mouth. Jim Tarsney of Sooey, Joe Doocey of Sligo Ambrous Gurrie of Ougham have the cure of the ring worm. The curer puts a circle around the sore and then he makes the sign of the cross over it with his finger.
Ellen Healy of Rusheen makes the cure for the nose. She gets some kind of herbs and makes ointment out of them which cures the sore.
