- In winter snares are made for catching rabbits and horses. I often made a snare for catching rabbits. At first I get a could of snare wire. The snare wire is divided into six equal parts The wire is twisted to make it strong. A small loop is left at the send of the wire. The other end of the wire is put into the loop and pulled out. Then a light bit of rope is tired to the wire a small peg of it. The role is then passed though the hole in the peg and knotted and the snare is made.
