    were roofed in the same way as the mud-walled cabins.
    The mud-walled houses had no glass in the windows. There were openings for the admission of light and air, and were opened in daytime but closed up during the night. In the stone-wall houses the windows were also very small. The window-frame was made of iron and and the glass was divided into a number of small panes.
