- There are two very olf people living in Carson (my townland) one of them an old woman is aged eighty years, her name is Mrs. Madill. The other an old man named James Daly is seventy five years of age. Neither of these old people know Irish. They have both been to America.
There are ruins of five houses
in this district. Most of the people went to Americal to earn money leaving only the old and feeble at home. The land of this townland is wet and boggy. Potato, corn and hay are the chief crops grown.
