- When people die, they are put in coffins and buried in a place called a grave yard. There are many graveyards in the parish of Durrow. The graveyard that is nearest to us is Kylelogue. It is situated about a mile from where I reside in the townland of Gurteen.
It is a round graveyard, with a stile on one side, and a gate on the other.
The stile is used for people visiting the graves, from time to time. The gate is used when coffins are being taken in. Mr Deegan holds the key of the gate.
There are the ruins of an old church to be seen there, up to the present day and a large holy water font. There is to be seen also a large stone cross with some verses on it, and three small ones. On the graves, daffodills and primroses grow in Spring-time.
