Ar an leathanach seo

  1. A proverb is a wise saying. It finds its place in many a conversation. There are numerous proverbs; in fact every letter in the alphabet forms the beginning of a proverb. "Be just before you are generous" means we should be free from debt, before we give lavishly to anyone.
    "Whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well" is an incitement to work, when we feel inclined to loiter.
    "It is a long road that has no turning" makes us kind in word and kind to our neighbour. We never know when the tide will turn for ourselves, therefore we should overlook the shortcomings of others.
    "Discretion is the better part of valour" is well illustrated in Daniel O'Connell's encounter with Biddy Moriarity. She was dreaded on account
