   At first this caused much sickness because the people did not know how to cook it properly. It was a great treat for the children because they were tired of potatoes. The old people now tell that when they were children they often gathered together in one house on Sunday and boiled a pot of stirabout for themselves while the parents were at Mass. The stirabout was made in thick sour milk.
   People then got grinding stones and ground their own wheat into a coarse brown flour and made whole-meal
