    make the head. This wire was often taken from fences in the country; and sold to the nailers.
    Lime was also burned in lime kilns. In Lismalecummin, in the parish of Kanturk, in County cork, the remains of one of these lime kilns are still to be seen.
    Three great fishermen were, Mattie Tadgh, from Kanturk, Johnny Leddy, from Newmarket, County Cork, and Denny Connors, from Banteer, County Cork, who was better known as "Hitchecock Warrior". These men also made flies which they sold for fishing.
