The old idea of having the feet turned to the east no longer obtains in our graveyard. The feet are turned towards the Tabernacle of the Church (I think Mr Ned Buckley has gone fully into this aspect of the questions, so there I leave it). The remains of one priest the Reverend John Breen are laid in the chapel yard – the head towards the church and the feet towards the south. The remains of Canon Walsh are buried n the Rathmore Church in the front of the St Joseph’s Altar. His was the only burial to take place in the Church. Fr time O’Sullivan was buried in Cork. Canon Carmody was laid to rest in front of the Rathmore Church as were Rev Charles John Fitzgerald (curate) Rev M O’Leary, Rev John O’Leary, Rev J Casey all natives of the Parish. Their feet in all cases are turned towards the congregations entering or leaving the Church in Nohoval- Bailitheoir
