- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)lands (Currabower). Then is crossed the present road near Abbey's Well graveyard and through Mr O'Callaghan's, Mr. Turner's, and Mr Healy's lands it ran until it reached the present Gurranes Road At Mr O'Sullivan's house there is a stone bearing the number "18". This is said to a milestone on the old road and to have meant eighteen Irish miles from there to Cork. The distance by the present road is said to be about sixteen Irish miles. Except the milestone there are no other signs to show that a road ran here long ago. The number is cut into the stone.
A Mass-path leads from Abbey's Well to Glantane Church. This runs through "bawn" fields. This path is not much used now as a new road was made in the district a few years ago.
