- About twenty years ago, on a Sunday morning, four men started to play cards before Mass, close to Glantane Church. Mass began and one man left the company and went in. Then the three others were disappointed, and were about to leave when another man arrived, and offered to finish the game with them. They seated themselves again and commenced to play. After a little while a card dropped from of of them. Just as he was about to pick it up he noticed a cloven hoof on the newcomer. He let a scream of terror out of him and ran away. The other three did likewise when they found out what had happened. The old people in the district say that each of those men had a cruel death, and most of them are fairly strong in this belief. Many of them say that it is wrong for anyone to remain even one minute outside the Church gate.
