  2. Sports: There were sports in Milford 50 years ago & Mr Jn. McCarthy, Bunmona, Milford, ran the Youths' race. The distance was ¼ mile. In a mile walking race, Dennie O'Leary, Kilbolane, Milford, was second.
    Committee in charge of those sports: Mr Pat Duane, Gibbingsgrove, Newtown, Ráth Luirc, Mr Charles Flynn (Deceased), "Pa" White R.I.P., Jeremiah O'Regan, Agustine O'Callaghan (R.I.P.), Matt. J. Murphy (R.I.P.). Jn. Reidy won the ½ mile & Pat Walsh was second.
