- Years ago there would be about twenty cars and sidecars going to the church with the people getting married. Then they would all return to the house of the bride where they would be feasting and dancing. Sometimes they would be feasting and dancing for a couple of days. Everybody should take some drink for fear they would take the luck away from the people who were married. The fiddlers used be hired to play. The best fiddlers used to come from Ballynoe, Tallow, Co. Waterford. There used be a dancing master at every wedding to see that all the dances were properly done. Tansen was the last dancing master around here. He used to teach the dances in the houses. He was from Ballynoe. They used to dance reels, and jigs, and Lancers.
