- Barry OMeara was a baker at Dowling's of Bridesbridge, Castlelyons, Co. Cork. about fifty years ago. He was called a poet because he composed a song called "The Hills of Coole"
There was also a man by the name of Thomas Coughlan who lived in Fermoy, but he was a native Bridesbridge. He composed "Corrin Hill" and "Glenabo" and a lot of other songs about the people of Bridesbridge and things that happened there.
