    a family named Vincent bought the mansion and property, and those called the townland Shanagolden demesne. The mansion is still to be seen a few hundred yards to the north of the school. It is an imposing three storey building and is now occupied by a local farmer.
    Clashgannin (Clais Gainnine) townland gets its named from a hollow in which a sand-pit was situated.
    The townland of Old Abbey gets its named form the old Geraldine monastery that flourished there.
    Moig townland is so called from a level tract of land that is in it.
