- Mr. Patrick Roche of Ballingarry was cutting hay one day in Lois na bfiann fort when a lepreachán appeared to him. He caught the lepreachán. The leipreacán gave him a special charm to let him go. This charm was that he need'nt ever edge his scythe. This was a great boon in those days because there were no machines. Mr. Roche never had to edge his scythe afterwards. He never got tired no matter how long he mowed. This is suffered to happen about 100 yrs. ago.
