Written by :- Peggie Foley Told by her father Milltown. - The Askeaton fairs are held in the streets of Askeaton. They are held every month. Long ago a fair used be held in Stonehall once a year. The fairs are held in a special fair place. There is always luck-money given when an animals is sold it is called toll.
The cattle are marked with raddle and by chipping on the side of the the animal. There is not any special fair for the sale of sheep bonhams or cattle.
