    Abouth seventy years ago a hedge-school master called John Breen opened a hedgeschool at the Pike Marshalstown, Kildorrery Co. Cork. He wrote a note to Rev. John O'Connell P.P. of Mitchelstown some days before the school opened to have him announce to the people on Sunday that he was about to open the school. In this note he explained the curriculum and so forth and now I'll let you have the note itself:-
