- Care of Our Farm animals.
The animals that are to be seen about a farm are ducks, chickens, turkeys, horses, cows, hens, geese, pigs, sheep, calves and goats.
When driving cows people say "Ho, Ho" and when calling calves they say "Sugg Sugg".
When milking people do not like to get up from the cow until they have her finished.
When the cow is finished the person that is milking her makes the sign of the cross on her right side.
When calling a dog people say "yeh yeh" and when calling a cat they say "Ps-s-sh, Ws-s-sh".
When calling a pig they say "Gush, Gush".
When calling a goat people say "Kiddy, Kiddy".
The poultry on a farm are hens, ducks, turkeys, geese and chickens. When hatching eggs people mark them and if the hen laid an egg on the nest they would know it from the other ones.
There are different kinds of black, white, brown, grey and pie-bald. A horse is usually tied by the neck with a halter. Some people put a branch of palm in the cowhouse to bring good luck.
