- In former times people began to wear boots at the age of five or six years.
There were no people in this district in older times who never wore boots.
The boys go barefooted in Summer. They start to go about the first of May until after the summer holidays.
The girls wear shoes and no stockings in summer.
There is nothing done with the water used for washing the feet. There were no customs or beliefs connected with them in this district in former times.
All the boots were made and repaired locally in olden times. There is one shoemaker in this district now for the four that were in it in former times.
The imported foot wear killed the home-made trade.
They are seldom worn nowadays. There were no coverings of leather in olden times.
There were no sayings or proverbs of any king mentioned.
