   Then some man made the shape of a cross with stones and it is to be seen there yet. A thorn bush grew and someone said it was unlucky and cut it. It is said that every time you pass by the hole you should lift a stone and throw it towards the hole and say, "Lord have mercy on the dead".

   The name of my townland is Tullakeel. There are sixteen families and thirty people in it. The family name most common is "Hawes", because they are living a long time there. Most of the houses are thatched. Tullakeel got it's name from a church and a plantation there. The people over seventy are
