- There are three forges in this district. One in Paughanstown, on in Mosstown, and one in the village of Dunleer.
The people from the whole parish bring their horses to be shod in these forges. Besides horse-shoeing other work is done, harrows are made, and ploughs and carts are repaired and other implements are also made. All the implements the blacksmith's have in the the forge are the Anvil, the hammer, the snippers, the sledge, and the pincers.
The blacksmiths that are in this district, their ancestors before them were blacksmiths also.
