    There is a place in Hacklem called "Main-namuc" called the valley of the black pig. It was prophised that at the end or near the end of the world that there will be a black pig reared in some farm near Ardee and he will run through this place and away over to the West again.

    There was an old woman living in Rathesgar Cross long ago and it is said that she kept a donkey in a stable for seven years without taking him out once and his feet were rooted off him. Her name was Mag Newet.
