- People in older times looked upon certain days of the week as being lucky. They believed Friday to be the lucky day to start work of any kind on. it was considered lucky to change into a new house or on Fridays but never on Saturday. They say "Saturdays Flitting is a short sitting".
The potatoe crop is generally put in, about the 1st of April and it is called late to plant after that.
