- There was a Parson who lived in Abbeyderg by the name of Parson Goslan. The times were bad and the people were not true to their religion. They had to turn protestant and catholic to try to live. There was a man named John Furey who was a catholic. He had to turn protestant. The parson did a lot for him to try and keep him a protestant. Often times he would say to him "John after all I have done for you I think you will leave me". John would say "that will be the last thing I will do". John felt very bad one time an sent for a catholic priest and turned catholic. The Parson heard this and when the Priest was gone he went galloping on his horse to Jack's house and said "Jack after all I said dident you turn" "But dident I tell you" said Jack "that would be the last thing I would do."
