- There is an old monastery in Foigha about three miles from Ballymahon in the Parish of Clough. It is in Mr. Mulvihill's field. The monastery is still intact the roof is on it but some of the windows are damaged. It can be seen in about two hundred yards on the right hand side of the road leading from Ballymahon to Lanesboro. There were six priests in it at one time. When Cromwell's soldiers came to the monastery the priests left it and came up to Mullavornia which is about a mile nearer Ballymahon and they remained there some time. When Cromwell's soldiers came to look for them the priests were disguised as labourers and although the soldiers spoke to then they did not recognise them. the priests lived in Mullavornia for thirty years and when they died they were buried in Andy Foxes field. One time Andy Foxes Grandfather Straightened the wall where the priests were buried. He had cattle in the field and immediately he straightened the wall(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
