- Marriages most frequently take place in Shrove, and Wednesday is said to the the luckiest day for marriages. In olden times the people used to get married at night. In that time it was said that Friday was the luckiest day for marriages. They used to have a great supper in the bride's house. When the supper was over they used to have a great dance in the night it lasted until morning.

- Marriages are most frequently held before Lent. the marriages are carried out in the chapel on Wednesday. It was an old custom long ago of marriages to be held in the houses and then go to mass that morning, and take a drive after their breakfast.
