since it is called Lady Well. Any one who has any pains or teethaches goes there and says a few prayers and gets cured and leaves something behind them.

  2. In the parish of Killoughy there are two holy wells. One in a place called Ballincanty. The water of this well cures teethache if rubbed on the sore tooth, and the person says certain prayers. This well was once on the road side, but a passing tramp washed clothes in it. It then dried up but sprung up again in the middle of a field some distance away. It is still there. People who try the cure leave something behind and tie pieces of rags to a nearby bush.
