- Story of the Leap CastleThe story I am about to relate is the story of the Leap Castle which is situated about five miles from Roscrea. There were people living there at that time by the name of O'Carrolls. O'Carroll had a sister and she was very ugly and people came from all parts of Ireland to marry her but none of them would suit her.
