- It was a custom when a man and woman got married to throw rice at them when they would be coming from the chapel.
They who went usually to the bride's house for breakfast. Then they went for a day on their honeymoon to some city or to some of their friends. When they came back that night, a large crowd of friends and well wishers were there. There was a musician or two employed for the night. There was plenty of dancing and drinking until morning.
Some timeafter the dancing began twenty or thirty straw=boys came in, nicely dressed with ribbons and cords and straw-hats so that nobody knew who the were. They stayed there until morning dancing until everybody was going home in the morning.
