- At one time there lived a family named McGlues in Killagoan Killeshandra and it is supposed that one night they had a dream of a large cot of gold in a lake called Aughabawn near Killeshandra co Cavan, and that they were to get three black horses without a white hair in them. So they got the horses and chained them to the cot of gold and when they had it near the land a large eel jumped up and cut the chains. It was afterwards observed that there was a white hair in one of the horses fetlocks. So they lost the cot of gold.
