    to the prospective bride he was asked how much land had he, and he said ten acres, then he asked how much money he was getting and her father said twenty pounds. He wanted thirty pounds so they bargained for a while but the father would not advance, so the groom got up to go. As he did so he saw a bullock calf lying in the corner and he said to the girl’s father “I will take her with the twenty pounds if you throw in the bullock with her”. The father agreed and the match was completed.
