Ar an leathanach seo
- No local person ever attained distinction for his poetic powers, but at the same time, I doubt, if there exists in Ireland a district where more verse or doggerel was composed - and is still - as the locality around Loughduff school in this parish. Poetry was composed about every event - particularly about "sprees" weddings and match making. I'm afraid most of them were written to cast aspersions on the people referred to. However a few were written from time to time in praise of local feats like the winning of a championship etc.
Some of these "poets" are still living and they contribute annually to Old Moore's Almanac(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
