  1. Our farm is situated in the townland of Aughaconey, the parish of Crosserlough, the County of Cavan and in the barony of Clonmahon. There are twenty seven fields on our farm.
    The "Three Cornered Field": The reason it is called the Three Cornered Field is, because there are corners in it and it is generally used for meadow.
    The White Field: The reason it is called the White Field is, because it is covered with white grass.
    "Kenny's Meadow": The reason it is called "Kenny's Meadow" is because long ago it was owned by a man named Kenny.
    The "Coir Meadow": The reason it is called the "Coir Meadow" is, because it is a wet marshy field.
    "Oldtown Meadow": The reason it is called Oldtown Meadow is because long ago there was an old town there.
    The "Crockan": The reason it is called the Crockan is, because there are hills and hollows in it.
    Eddie Reilly's Garden: The reason it is called Eddie Reilly's Garden is because long ago a man named Eddie Reilly loved there.
