   John McConnell a mason and poet, no fixed abode, but stayed in farmer's houses let to workmen.
   These were little mud wall Cabins built for woekmen. Composed a song called "Naughty Joe the ragman". He was building Kilnacroth at the time he made the song. Morton the landlord gave an " at home to all his workmen. Kilnacroth is bhilt where Willy Reilly's father had a summer's residence, dressed as a ragman O Connell came out and sang this song. Naughty Joe the Ragman.

   Bits of brass and broken glass and
   Long Drumscrigan corkers.

   Im always on a drag sir.
   The devil a luck will ever be.

   Through Kilnacroth I often trot,
   And roundabout Drumrora.
   Through Kiltully Kilafassey.
   Ballycan and Clover.
   Through Mullaghmeem and Thonagreen
   And back through Tullyagan.
   And all the dogs round Roebuck bog.
