21-6-1938. - In the olden days it is said that a blacksmith lived in Fennor on the Cowsa road just where it joins Meath. In fact this man lived in Meath just over the border. His name was Sean Brady or Bray. He was the best smith in either Meath or Cavan and people came from near and far to get their horses shod by him. Well one Hallow Eve he was awaked by a knocking on his door. He asked "who is there." The answer came "A man who wants his horse shod". It is a wonder you did not wait for the day and not be putting me out of bed at this early hour said Brady as he opened the door. It was raining very hard and it was very dark also, but the blacksmith could make out the figure of a gentleman in a long cloak standing outside holding a horse by the(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
