got its name from a big ash tree that grew in the garden behind my house. There are five families in the townland made up of thirty one people in all.
The family name most common is Reilly and Mc Cabe. The types of houses are one storied high and thatched with straw.
There are no people over seventy years of age and there are no storytellers in my townland.
There was an old house in Patrick Reilly's fields a hundred years ago. The name of the people were Reilly and they all died. There is another old house on our land and it belongs Ned Maguire and he died four years ago.
The land is hilly and there are a few marshy places. There are no rivers except one which separates Drumgoon from Crann.
Tras-scríofa ag duine dár meitheal tras-scríbhneoirí deonacha.
