One day as he was walking about the Castle past the Dungeons, his two brothers called out to him to release them. He disregarded the foxes advice when he learned that his brothers were to be hanged on a certain day. He bought them from the gallows and they stole from him the horse, lady, and Golden Bird and came home and put him into the dungeon and same home.
They told the father how they succeeded and when he asked if they saw their brother they said they never saw a sign of him.
Now the Bird would not sing, the lade would not talk, and the horse would not neigh. This surprised everyone.
Now the youngest was in prison and one day the fox came to the bars of the window and said, "Why did you disobey me?" "I told you not to buy anyone from the gallows." Then he told him he would release him. He told him to catch his tail and he was drawn out of the prison.
